Finished Oregon Tote

Here is the finished Oregon Tote. I have added the I-Cord handles, and used my test swatch as a pocket. I felt I needed to pull the blue mohair color into the pocket area since I didn't use the mohair in the swatch. So I did a simple blanket stitch around the outside and added an embroidered flower. I threw it in the washer for a quick spin to fluff up the mohair a bit before sewing it on.

OT After Felting

The Magic of Felting Posted by Hello

My Oregon Tote has gone through the agitation cycle on my washing machine 6 or 7 times by the time this picture was taken. It may have shrunk more if I let it go longer, and I may, at some point, try to shrink it some more, since it came out a bit bigger than I expected. In this picture there are 4 Capri Sun cartons shoved inside so that it can dry/block properly.

Finished Knitting Oregon Tote

Here is the Oregon Tote after I finished knitting. It is off the needles, but I added a crocheted row of blue mohair around the top as an afterthought after I took this picture. I wanted to bring the blue accents from the green stripe up to the top.

Oregon Tote Progress

I'm in the process of moving posts from my old blog to this one. This is my first post on my old blog, which I will backdate here to the orginal post date, and will continue to do so with all my posts until they are all transferred over to this one. The Oregon Tote is my first felting experience. I was amazed and very pleased with the results.
