Even a 10 year old......

Here you see a picture of J.
She is 10 years old. She and her mom were in the beginning knitting class I helped teach in October. They have knit garter stitch scarves since then. That's it. They signed up for my "Panes" class. I was kind of hesitant to sign them up, because I knew it was going to be a challenge for beginning knitters. Especially a 10 year old.

Or so I thought!

They are both doing a great job. J. impresses me so much with her confidence and stick-to-it-ness. Last night she realized she had knit almost a whole row with the wrong color and just took it upon herself to fix it. I've had many adults who would just thrust it at me and whimper. Not J. She's awesome!

I'm so looking forward to seeing her Purple Panes bag finished. She already was talking about changing the pattern to make a smaller version. I see a future knitting designer being born.....

Go J.!

Go T! Successful designer and teacher! Hooray for you, too. And I think the purple Panes looks wonderful - great color choice there. Hooray for J.

How cool is that? Gotta love young knitters, they don't flinch, they just plow ahead!

Dear Knitiot:

If I were inclined to knit a bag, I would definitely buy your pattern. It is lovely. Alas, I've no interest in knitting bags, so you won't be getting an order from me. But I wanted you to feel almost as good as if I HAD bought one.

What? You think that "that chick's weird" is news to me?
